France appears close to enacting the first law in the world that makes verbal and psychological abuse in marriages a criminal act.

a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 32% of Americans say the United States should have a law that punishes individuals for verbal and psychological abuse of their spouses. Forty percent (40%) are opposed to such a law, and another 27% are not sure.
